 Four by Four Driving: Tom Sheppard:This book is the best introduction to off roading, 4×4 systems and doing it right from day one.I recommend this book to everyone, everyone who books a course with us gets a copy to keep for reference.Highly recommended.

Off Road Four Wheel Drive Book - Jack Jackson:A good introduction to off road driving techniques. Loads of useful information, simply laid out, and very easy to follow. This is a good first point of call for anyone thinking of driving through the gate and off the hard stuff.

4-Wheel Freedom - Brad De Long:Another great all-round off roading book, recommended by and for beginners and more experienced users.

Recovery techniques:

 Off-Road Recovery Techniques - Nick Cole:Very much a textbook for how to get yourself out of trouble - not light reading, but if you need to know how to do it, this is the book to get.

Land Rover:

 Land Rover - Tom Sheppard:The Landrover guide, written by one of the most respected off road writers around.
